What we take

Mixed household rubbish is the everyday pile that builds up between clean-ups — kitchen waste bagged properly, broken household items, packaging, old linen and general clutter that won’t fit the wheelie bin. AA Rubbish Disposals collects it from homes, flats and small rentals across Christchurch, working around stairs, narrow halls and shared driveways.

We keep the collection straightforward. You show us the pile, we confirm what’s included, then we lift and load. Where items can be separated for better disposal — for example, clean cardboard or textiles that suit a different channel — we’ll let you know rather than sending everything together.

How a general pickup works

First, you describe the pile — roughly how many bags or how much floor space it covers, and where it’s sitting (garage, lounge, spare room). We confirm access and timing for your suburb, then arrive with the gear to move it without marking walls or floors. Loads are taken away promptly; the area is left swept clear so you can use the room again straight away.

For larger clear-outs, it helps to group loose rubbish into sturdy bags and keep sharp or heavy items separate. That keeps the lift safe and quick. If you’re clearing after tenants have left or before a new flatmate arrives, let us know the access code and we’ll work with what’s on site.

What to have ready

• Bag loose rubbish where you can — it speeds loading and keeps the truck tidy.
• Keep separate any hazardous items (paint, chemicals, batteries, gas bottles) — we’ll advise the right Christchurch drop-off.
• Clear a path from the pile to the door if possible. We protect floors on the way out.
