Old computers, small electronics and whiteware contain materials that need a careful pathway — metals, glass and components that can be recovered, plus parts that shouldn’t go to landfill. AA Rubbish Disposals does not claim to recycle everything on site; instead, we provide honest guidance on the right Christchurch recycling and drop-off options for e-waste and appliances, and help with the lift where we can.

This keeps the job responsible without making promises we can’t keep. If an item suits a specialist recycler, we’ll say so and help you get it there tidily.

What we help with

We can uplift e-waste and whiteware from homes and small workplaces — desktop PCs, monitors, printers, microwaves and similar — and advise on the next step. For fridges and other refrigeration appliances, handling needs to respect the refrigerant; we’ll confirm whether a specialist pickup or council-supported channel is the right call before moving the item.

We also help clear the associated clutter — cables, packaging and the surrounding pile — so the space is usable again once the e-item has been directed correctly.

Preparing e-waste for uplift

• Wipe personal data where you can before handing over computers or phones.
• Keep cables together and batteries separate — batteries need their own drop-off.
• Let us know if the appliance still contains food, water or chemicals.
